BB4CK Snack Drive!

My kids have always had an ample amount of healthy (and not so healthy) snacks available to them on a daily basis. Quite often eating them out of pure boredom versus any sort of necessity.

The sad truth is, not all kids do.

I have witnessed what food shortages look like firsthand through various humanitarian trips that I have gone on, but when you learn that some of the kids in your very own community school are showing up with no lunch in hand — it hits home in a whole different way. This in no way is meant to serve as a guilt trip, but more so, to simply raise awareness about this need in the community.

We are always looking for different ways that we can help support good people doing good things, and Brown Bagging For Calgary’s Kids is doing exactly that! So for the month of March, we are teaming up with them and hosting a local SNACK DRIVE! Every day, thousands of kids face the day on an empty stomach. Together, we can help ensure that kids have access to healthy and reliable food sources.

We will be collecting snacks that will be included in the lunches that BB4CK supplies for thousands of kids every single day!

You can download the snack list here!

Covid19 has only increased the need for programs like this. Not only are more families needing additional assistance, but BB4CK has come up with new ways to connect with families to ensure that lunch is always available where needed. For kids who are learning at home, things like grocery cards, food finders, and even a hot meal at participating restaurants around the city are making it easier than ever to make a difference. These resources are also available during off days and summer holidays.

I encourage you to explore www.bb4ck.org to learn more and see all of the good work this organization is doing.

If you can, we would love for you to join our initiative by either donating snacks, or if that is not possible, consider giving financially!
